Hello Parents and Volunteers of AYSO Region 74,

Regional Commissioner nominations are now open. We encourage and welcome you to express interest in the position yourself and/or make recommendations on candidates you would like to see nominated.

The AYSO volunteer position of Regional Commissioner is intended to have the responsibility and the authority to manage the day-to-day business of the region within the framework of the AYSO operating regulations.

Regional Commissioner Job Description

Who?
The general qualifications to be eligible to nominate yourself or to be nominated for this position are that you are preferably a current or past AYSO Regional Board Member or a registered volunteer in good standing with the organization.

Why?
AYSO guidelines specify that the volunteer Regional Commissioner term is 3 years in duration. Between 3 and 6 months prior to the expiration of that term, a Nomination Committee is formed to seek and recommend one or more candidates to the Regional Board. The Regional Board shall then, by majority vote, nominate a Regional Commissioner and forward such nomination to the Region’s Area Director.

When?
-Oct 21st - The final day for you to submit your recommended candidates to the nomination commission.
-Nov 11th - RC Candidates Q&A (open to everyone) and Board Vote with Area 8J staff member. The Regional Board will then, by majority vote, elect a Regional Commissioner and forward such nomination to the Region’s Area Director.
-Apr 1st - The current RC term ends April 1, 2026, the successful candidate will become the RC Elect until such time as the current RC term expires or an agreed upon transition date occurs.
