SPECIAL REQUESTS

Region 74 serves a large number of players — nearly 1,000 across approximately 100 teams each year. In accordance with AYSO's philosophy of "Balanced Teams," we form new teams annually based on enrollment, the volunteer coaches available, player experience, location, and our best knowledge of players' skills.

We understand the desire to request specific players, coaches, and practice nights. To accommodate within reason — and to respect the time of the board members forming teams — we will consider special requests under the following guidelines:

Special Request Guidelines:

• All requests are considered requests, not guarantees. We will do our best if the following parameters are followed.

• For the best chance of having a request granted, register before August 1. Requests made after August 1 are less likely to be accommodated, as team formation will already be in process.

• All requests must be entered in the friend request and practice day request fields during player registration. Due to the volume of email board members receive, emailed requests cannot be guaranteed.

• Players may request ONE friend to be on their team. Requests involving more than one friend will not be honored.

• Coaches may request a maximum of TWO players other than their own child, provided doing so does not disrupt the balance of teams within the division.

• Requests for a specific coach are generally not honored, except in rare, case-by-case circumstances.

• Attempts to circumvent these guidelines — e.g., chains of friend requests linking to a particular coach — will not be honored.

• Practice night requests will be honored as much as possible, though not guaranteed.

• No roster changes will be made after coaches have received team assignments, except under extreme circumstances reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

If these guidelines feel overly restrictive, we encourage you to join the board! We are always looking for volunteers to help us with the important task of building "Balanced Teams."
